On May 9-11, 2008, Huron College at the University of Western Ontario hosted the first Sacred and Secular in a Global Canada conference.

Omar presented a paper, War-Time Propaganda Towards Minorities in Canada.

The Ryerson School of Health Services Management Alumni Association held their Spring Annual General Meeting Dinner and Social on Thursday, May 1st, 2008 at Bumpkins French Continental Cuisine

The speakers were Dr. Edward Etchells and Dr. Mark Cheung, who spoke on Patient Safety: Communication of Critical Laboratory Values:Can Automation Make a Difference?

The Alumni Association presented Omar with a small toke of recognition for his time and service with the organization, serving as Vice-Chair and Chair in the past.
