David J. Bilinksy on Why You Should Stay in Law School


David J. Bilinsky provides some advice to law students and mentions the importance of blogging for creating a profile,

Target the law that you wish to do and then start to find firms that practice that area..and try to get on their radar screen. How? Use social media!  The best way I know of is to start working in that area – by building a blog and start getting known for your interest in a certain area.  Omar Ha-Redeye was a law student in Canada that started a blog as a student on health and reputation management law (he is now a called lawyer) and this blog gave him immense exposure well before he graduated and led to his being included in award-winning legal blogs as www.slaw.ca.  You can see Omar’s blog here.

Law Convocation

On June 18, 2010, Omar Ha-Redeye officially graduated from law school, awarded with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Western Law Celebrates 50th Anniversary

After opening the Toronto Stock Exchange in the morning, Western Law celebrated its 50th Anniversary with its Golden Anniversary Reception at the Fairmont Royal York in the evening.

Thursday, April 29, 2010 – University of Western Ontario Law 50th Anniversary Opens the Market
Ian Holloway QC, Dean of Law at the University of Western Ontario joined Gary Knight, Vice President, Trading, TMX Group to open the market to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Western Law school. Founded in 1959, Western Law has grown, with a base of more than 6,000 alumni who occupy positions in the practice of law, business, and in community and public service. Western Law is commemorating their golden anniversary with a Grand Reception at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto tonight.
