Interview with CTV on Judicial Diversity

Omar Ha-Redeye was interviewed on CTV news about Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Kristine Eidsvik’s comments at the University of Calgary.

He indicated that this may have been a poor attempt by Justice Eidsvik to interject humour, but was still inappropriate. The solution he proposed was a more diverse bench, where judges would be able to learn from one another and gain different perspectives.

Justice Eidsvik’s comments are now the subject of a complaint to the Canadian Judicial Council.
