Legal Post on Cloud Computing

Jeff Lagerquist of the Legal Post quoted Omar Ha-Redeye on the use of cloud computing in the legal sector,

Solo practices accounted for 77% of Ontario’s firms in 2013. With low overhead comes with the burden of accounting, book keeping, data entry, and number of other time-sucking chores. Technology seems an obvious solution, but that’s no easy sell in a legal community that is notoriously resistant to change…

A Canadian entrant is in the mix, Clio, which is a new suite of cloud-based practice management tools to cut down on admin work and save on hardware, servers, and IT support.

“They’ve done quite well for themselves,” Mr. Ha-Redeye says, when asked about Clio. “They’re sort of like the RIM of the legal software industry.”
