The Niagara Moot is hosted by the Canada-United States Law Institute (CUSLI), which is a joint initiative between Western Law in London, Ontario and Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. Moot rounds were held this year at McCarthy Tetreault, Faskin Martineu and Cassels Brock in Toronto.

Omar Ha-Redeye responded to Michael Den Tandt’s piece in The Gazette, “A week later, Canada’s move to sever Iran ties looks prescient,” in a letter to the editor:

One would have to be extremely geographically challenged to conflate the turmoil at U.S. embassies in places like Libya, Egypt or Yemen with the removal of the diplomats from Iran.

The countries are dramatically different and their political situations are poles apart.

Of course it’s also the same kind of confusion that would be required to call anything the Harper government does in its foreign relations realm as “genius.”
