The Ontario Bar Association (OBA) honoured members of the bar on May 5, 2011 at the OBA Annual Awards Gala.

To present OBA’s Award for Distinguished Service went to the Late John M. Hodgson, Q.C. of The Honourable Heather A. McGee, Superior Court of Justice, and Eugene Meehan Q.C. of McMillan LLP.

The OBA’s Linda Adlam Manning Award went to Alayna M. Miller of Sevigny Westdal LLP.

The OBA’s President’s Award went to LEAF – Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund.

The Ontario Bar Association (OBA) hosted a reception for new calls to the bar. Special guests included Chief Justice Annemarie Bonkalo of the Ontario Court of Justice, Chief Justice Heather Smith of the Superior Court of Justice, and Hon. Chris Bentley, Attorney-General of Ontario.

Omar Ha-Redeye will not be called to the Ontario bar until 2011.

The 2010 Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Award for Excellence in Civil Litigation went to Bonnie A. Tough of
Tough & Podrebarac LLP.

Award and ceremony was held at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. Keynote speech was presented by Harvey Strosberg Q.C. of Sutts, Strosberg LLP.
